The wait is finally over. Armenia has confirmed their entry for Vienna 2026, and with it, the Eurovision 2026 artist lineup is complete. SIMÓN will represent Armenia with Paloma Rumba — a high-energy, rebellious anthem that closes the book on TBAs for this year’s contest.
About the song
Paloma Rumba — which translates as ‘Dove’s Rumba’ or ‘Dove’s Dance’ — is a celebration of breaking free. The song follows a character who walks away from a suffocating 9-to-5 existence to chase their dreams instead, using humour, attitude and explosive energy to tell the story. The dove symbolises freedom — finally taking flight after being caged for too long.
It was composed by Lilit Navasardyan, with lyrics co-written by David Tserunyan, Eva Voskanyan and Rosa Linn — who herself represented Armenia at Turin 2022.
Who is SIMÓN?
Born in Hrazdan, Armenia, SIMÓN has been performing his whole life — his family joke that he could sing and dance before he could walk. Inspired by Michael Jackson, he chose performing over his economics degree and became one of Armenia’s most recognised dancers before transitioning to singing.
He finished runner-up at Armenia’s national final Depi Evratesil in 2025, impressing both local and international juries, before broadcaster AMPTV internally selected him to represent the country in Vienna.
SIMÓN will perform in the first half of Semi-Final 2 on 14 May.
